Property Information
Located on the outskirts of beautiful Camden village, this very well appointed cottage is decorated with class and taste. Featuring original artworks, locally made custom furniture, a modern kitchen that is great for entertaining, gleaming wood floors, a comfortable queen bedroom and even a luxurious bathroom appointed with glass shower and marble floors. Stone’s Throw is in a perfect location with its own parking away from the bustle. Amenities include high speed internet and TV with cable and DVD. There are numerous 4 and 5 star restaurants and inns just a few minute’s walk from the cottage to get a delicious meal prepared by the areas top chefs. We believe everyone should make a reservation as soon as they arrive at their property for a dinner at Ephemere at 51 Bayview street. As one critic wrote : “If Ephemere is right around the corner from you, there is little need to pine for a trip to France. From French wines to elegant compositions on the plate, favoring the touches of austerity that can be so French, it is all here”. Or dine a short ride North at The Edge in Lincolnville. This spectacular restaurant has one of the most incredible views of any restaurant in the state of Maine. The food is incredible and the whole experience from walking on the wooded trail to the restaurant from the parking area, to the golf cart ride back to your car after dinner is truly rewarding. For the adventurous, take a romantic sunset sail out of Camden Harbor on the Schooner Olad and let them host a lobster dinner on a secluded beach of one of the surrounding islands.

The Camden/Lincolnville/Rockport area is rich in outdoor activities, great dining opportunities, relaxation, and fun events. There are so many things to do in the area that we can’t possibly list them all here, but we do want to share some of our favorite things to do and see.
Hiking, swimming and boating are three of our favorite things in the area:
When it comes to hiking, most tourists head up the easy 800’ trail to the top of Mount Battie overlooking Camden Harbor, and others head up Maiden Cliff overlooking Megunticook Lake. However, we think the views from Beach Hill in Rockport are just as spectacular, and Beach Hill is better suited for a picnic lunch, in addition to being a short hike than anyone in the family from age 1 – 90 can enjoy. The open fields of the summit, capped by Beech Nut, a sod-roofed stone hut, are visible from miles around. Built in the early 1900s, Beech Nut was recently listed on the National Historic Register and has undergone some renovation in order to preserve its structural integrity. The Coastal Mountain Land Trust owns Beach Hill and continues to manage the fields as an organic blueberry operation. Be sure to bring a pail if you hike it in August so you can pick plenty of great tasting free blueberries!
We think the two best places to go swimming in the area are at Ducktrap in Lincolnville, and at Megunticook Lake in Camden. Ducktrap is best at high tide, just after the tide has turned and started to fall. The warmer Ducktrap River feeds the ocean at that time, so it isn’t quite as cold as swimming in the ocean, yet you get to enjoy all the feelings, sites and sounds of swimming in Penobscot Bay. Swim across the “trap” and explore the 200 year old graveyard with Revolutionary War soldiers just up in the woods.
Again, these are just a couple of the hundreds of activities in the area. Consult with the Camden-Lincolnville-Rockport Chamber of Commerce to get more information on other activities in the area.
