Tucked along the scenic banks of the New River, Riverside Mountain Retreat offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort in the heart of North Carolina’s High Country. Whether you're looking to relax by the water, explore nearby mountain towns, or hit the slopes, this cozy riverside cabin is your ideal home base for every season.

Step inside to a warm and welcoming living room featuring a stunning stacked stone wood-burning fireplace, plush leather seating, a TV for movie nights, and a large sliding glass door that opens onto the deck—perfect for indoor-outdoor living. The country-style kitchen offers granite countertops and everything you need to prepare home-cooked meals, with a dining table that comfortably seats six.

The retreat sleeps up to 10 guests across three inviting bedrooms:

  • The master suite is perched in the loft, overlooking the living space below and offering closable shutters for privacy, a private Juliette balcony, and an ensuite bathroom.
  • On the main level, you’ll find a cozy queen bedroom with a TV, plus a bunk room featuring a twin-over-full bunk bed and an additional twin trundle—ideal for kids or extra guests. These two bedrooms share a full hall bathroom.
  • The living room love seat opens to a queen sleeper for 2 extra guests.
Outside, enjoy the best of riverside living:
  • Soak in the hot tub on the lower deck after a day of adventure.
  • Roast marshmallows under the stars at the riverside fire pit, complete with seating.
  • Grab one of the provided river tubes and float along the gentle waters just steps from your door—or cast a line for a relaxing afternoon of fishing.
Despite the peaceful, private setting, you’re never far from the area’s top attractions:
  • Downtown Boone – just minutes away
  • Blowing Rock – under 14 miles
  • Valle Crucis – 20 miles
  • Banner Elk – under 24 miles
  • Tweetsie Railroad & Appalachian Ski Mountain – approx. 10 miles
  • Sugar Mountain & Hawksnest – about 20 miles
  • Beech Mountain & Grandfather Mountain – around 30 miles
  • Wilkesboro & MerleFest – 45 minutes
Whether you’re sipping coffee on the deck, soaking in the hot tub, floating down the river, or enjoying a cozy night by the fire, Riverside Mountain Retreat is a place where memories are made year-round.

Two dogs may be included with an additional pet fee. There are two blink cameras at the front and back of the house covering the driveway and back door. 

MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO BOOK 

CANCELLATION POLICY: 
You may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. If you cancel more than 15 days before arrival, you will receive a refund of half the amount paid to date. Cancellations within 15 days before the arrival date do not receive a refund. If you purchase travel insurance and the reason for the cancellation is covered, you may recover the entire amount.
