Mountain Laurel Lodge, a 5BR/4.5BA Log Home, offers four suites as well as an in-laws suite. There is plenty of room to spread out the entire house! The lodge is conveniently located less than 5 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock, and 7 miles from Boone. Valle Crucis, located just 15 miles away, is a great place to visit. It has a riverfront store and a park. Banner Elk is less than 25 miles away. In the area, you can enjoy snow skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating. Appalachian Ski Mountain is six miles away. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is twenty-two (22) mi away, and Beech Mountain Ski Resort is thirty (30) mi further. Hawksnest Snowtubing & Ziplines Resort is twenty-one (21) miles away. Sky Valley zipline tours are located approximately eight (8) mile from our lodge. Grandfather Mountain and the entrance to the famous Profile hiking trails are only twenty (20) miles apart. Bass Lake and Trout Lake are respectively six (6) and 8 (8) miles away. The Watauga River and the New River are both within easy reach. The middle fork is within three (3) miles. The Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a peaceful mountain road, is within a mile and quarter mile of our lodge. We also have the Mountains to Sea Trail nearby. Mountain Laurel Lodge’s main floor has an open-plan layout with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, hardwood flooring, and a glass wall that offers long-range views of the mountains. The great room has a leather sectional sofa with ottoman that can be positioned so you can enjoy the views from the large HD Smart TV. The adjacent dining room has a banquet-style table that can seat up to ten people. The kitchen features granite countertops, custom cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a gas range. This kitchen is large enough to prepare and serve food for the entire house. The powder room/half bathroom serves the dining area, kitchen, and great room. The laundry room is located just off the kitchen. It houses a washer/dryer, and has a garage attached with two cars. The large gas log fireplace has large glass doors that lead to the rear deck. The deck is covered in the center, but the sides are left exposed. The deck includes a stainless steel gas grill, a dining table outside, and a comfortable Adirondack Chair. Both the main-level bedrooms with king beds have access to the deck. Mountain Laurel Lodge has 7 TVs. Due to limitations in TV programming, you can only operate 4 TVs at once. You can find these two king suites on opposite wings of the house. Both have HDTVs, a king-size mattress, full ensuite bathrooms, and vaulted-ceilings with exposed beams. The left suite has a comfortable tufted loveseat. The bathroom features a vessel-shaped sink and a travertine tiled shower with a frameless, glass door. The right suite has a gas fire place and is furnished with comfortable seats and a secretary desk. The bathroom features a double vanity with a Jacuzzi bathtub and a handheld bathing wand. The lower level has a large bar, with a fridge, dishwasher, and wine cooler. There is also plenty of bar stool seating, and a beautiful solid-oak bar top! The game room/den offers guests an 8-foot slate table as well as a cozy, media room with leather recliners and conversational couches. On the lower level, there is also a large bedroom suite. The bedroom suite has a King-size four-post bed, glass doors that lead to the lower deck and a walk-in closet. There is a Jack-and Jill full bathroom that can be accessed from both the hallway and the private. The library is located in the middle of the lower level. It has been converted into a fifth bedroom. It has stunning mahogany wall, copper ceiling tiles, and crown molding. This room features a full-sized mattress and a gas log fire place. The room also has an HD Smart TV. The lower deck in the rear provides guests with more seating from which to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains and the new hot-tub. The "in-law" suite is located at the top of the attached parking garage, up the private staircase. This is a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a fireplace with gas logs and a HD Smart TV. The suite also features a full bathroom, with a pedestal sink and a tiled shower. Mountain Laurel Lodge has a lot of timeless furniture, art and decor. This vacation spot is the perfect blend of mountain elegance and modern touches. It is located centrally and close to the High Country attractions. There are enough amenities that make the trip worthwhile. There are many options for entertainment, including a hot-tub, a gazebo at the front, covered and open air decks in the rear, as well as a game room equipped with snooker, a full bar, and a covered and open-air terrace. This is a great mountain getaway because it has many living areas and suites with HD Smart TVs and digital programming. It also has WiFi internet. SLEEPING Arrangements (sleeps 10 guests): Main level Master Suite for Primary Queen (sleeps 2) Secondary King Master Bedroom on Main Level (sleeps 2) Lower King Bedroom Suite (sleeps 2). Lower Full Bedroom (sleeps 2). Queen "in-law's" Suite above garage (sleeps 2). Satellite internet is great for browsing the web and checking emails, but can be slow when streaming or playing online games. Mountain Laurel Lodge only has a limited data plan, so please limit internet usage. Owners are only allowed to bring in well-behaved dogs that they own and care for. The house has high-end, custom-made furniture that would be difficult to replace in the event of a pet damaging it. When dogs are left alone, they must be in a crate. Dogs that are left alone in the room without an adult will also need to be crated. The guest who is responsible for any damages caused to the dog will be charged. Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policies do not often cover pet damage when the dog is left unattended. In the past, it was difficult to claim "incidental damage" for pet damages.
