Property Description

Lookout Place offers a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains! This three-level Boone home is located behind the Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park and offers convenience, seclusion, as well as long-range views of the mountains. Downtown Boone, Tweetsie Railroad and Appalachian Ski Mountain can be reached in less than 30 minutes. Just 12 minutes away, you can take a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are many lookouts and hiking opportunities.


Lookout Place has a cozy living area, dining area, and kitchen located on the first floor. Leather furniture, a wood-burning fireplace, a flat screen TV, and tongue-and groove paneling from floor to ceiling give the cabin a real feel. The covered deck provides seating all year round. The wall of glass overlooks the mountains. Three queen bedrooms can accommodate six guests. One is located on the main floor and two are upstairs. The lower level is unfinished and includes a kitchenette, an extra refrigerator, stovetop and plenty of space to store mountain bikes or paddle boards.


Lookout Place has wifi, Roku streaming, a washer/dryer, and Roku streaming. Please note that there are no dishwashers and dishes must be washed by hand. Window a/c units are available on the main floor and upper levels for summer comfort. The lower level has no a/c, so it tends to be cooler even during warmer weather. The wood stove is located on the main floor, but there is also a propane wall heating system on all three floors. Reservations include two dogs. Additional pet fees may apply.

***It's important to note that the driveway leading up to this home is a one-lane gravel drive with steep switchbacks. It is possible that it won't be cleared of snow after a storm. Winter weather requires AWD or 4-wheel drive, tire chains and a vehicle that has adequate clearance. Even with the right equipment, the driver of the vehicle needs to be a capable and experienced winter weather and all terrain driver.
