The chalet is located in Woodsville, New Hampshire on the edge of the White Mountains. It is an easy three hour drive from Hartford, Connecticut, straight up Interstate 91 North. The chalet is only ten miles from the 91 exit. It is a beautiful drive to the chalet located on a woodsy lot in Mountain Lakes community. Two beautiful lakes are just a short walk away. The town is quaint with country stores and covered bridges. The towns of Lincoln and Woodstock, about 30 minutes away, which is the home of LOON MOUNTAIN SKI Resort, with plenty of shopping, excellent restaurants, movies, theater, golf and all of the exciting New Hampshire sights and attractions. Many other ski resorts within 45 minutes from the Chalet.
What we have to offer:
* Four bedrooms; two on the main floor, one with a ful size bed, the other with twin beds. Two bedrooms upstairs,materbedroom with a queen size bed and wonderful sitting and TV area as well as a balcony. The other bedroom has a set of twin beds.

Mountain Lakes has something for everyone:
* Mountains:
Mountain Lakes is located in a beautiful mountain setting, and near a number of New Hampshire famous mountains. Only a few miles from the Appalachian Trail and the White Mountains National Forest. There is always something to do or a place to go. Hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, non-motorized boating, skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating, or simply relaxing.
During the summer:
The lake offers relaxation for adults and fun and games for the kids. There are lifeguards on two private beaches with diving platforms. A community center that plans organized activities for children as well as adults. These include water balloon tosses, tug-a-war, pie eating contests, crafts, Bingo, pot luck dinners, etc. There are tennis courts, basketball courts, and volleyball. To add to the fun, kids tend to make a number of friends while vacationing at Mountain Lakes. Boat rentals are available (non motorized) and fishing is allowed out of the swimming areas. There is an in-ground pool, along with picnic and barbecue facilities at both the pool and beach areas. Just outside of Mountain Lakes is a wonderful natural swimming spot called "The Big Eddie." Additionally, there are many of the New Hampshire family attractions within a half hour to an hour's drive including water parks, amusement parks, train rides, miniature golf, and many superb golf courses.
During the winter:
The lake can be used as an ice skating rink. Some people even ice fish there. Excellent sledding just a few steps from the chalet without any danger of being near cars or traffic. Within the Mountain Lakes community there is an area called The Lodge, here you can sled and ice skate and often they open the Lodge with a cozy fireplace for you to warm up while having hot cocoa.
Mountain Lakes offers snowmobiling with national trails running right through the surrounding area. Several of New England's top-rated ski resorts are nearby. Including LOON MOUNTAIN, CANNON, BRETTON WOODS, WATERVILLE VALLEY, and BURKE MOUNTAIN (Vermont). |
